Journalist, folklorist, writer and law graduate. He followed integralism and traditional monarchy as his doctrinal ideologies. He spent much of his life in Lisbon. As a writer, he produced political and administrative literature. As a journalist, he collaborated with various national and regional periodicals, including Gil Vicente and Das Artes e da História da Madeira. As a folklorist, he authored, among other texts, the book Cousas da Madeira (1939).
